Garden Lighting - European Style

Some people spend a lot of time perfecting their gardens. Whether one lives in a terrace or a bungalow, those with green fingers will love to create beautiful gardens that are a sight to behold. Talking about gardens, we find that garden lighting is one of the things that only a few people dare to experiment with.
The most we see in a lot of stores when it comes to garden lighting is the use of solar powered lights on poles (some 2.5 feet, some taller) that can be 'planted' in any strategic spot in the garden without the need for wiring. But the more discerning ones will go for fully fledged lighting - with wiring and all that. For this, some tap into the electricity connection provided for the house's autogate system. Tapping either this or pulling a new line altogether should be based on an electrician's advise.
We recommend an experience electrician be engaged for any lighting work outdoors as there is always the risk of exposed wiring when trying to connect a few points that lay across a wide lawn. Some of the best ideas for garden lighting are the traditional style lights which sit prettily on beautifully shaped poles, just like the ones we find on the streets in Europe (or ones they show in the movies).
These lights, single, double or a cluster can make the garden look really majestic and romantic at night, and during the day, they do make lovely structures doting the garden. We have seen quite a number of people lighting up their gardens this way (costs around RM300 to RM500 for the poles, and about RM50- RM70 for wiring), and based on the size of the garden, one can go for a single, or a few poles around the lawn. Sounds like an idea? Try it out!
